I earned my Upholstery degree from Century College (White Bear Lake, MN) in 1985. Upon graduating, I started my first in-home upholstery business in Northfield. For the next six years I enjoyed working in my own home while expanding my skills and building my clientele.
In 1992, I accepted the position as an Upholstery Instructor for South Central Technical College (Faribault, MN). Under this contract I had the opportunity to work at the Minnesota State Correctional Facility in Faribault, MN, teaching a class of 16 male offenders the art of upholstery. This experience provided a wide range of life-learning opportunities, including the chance to expand my knowledge and expertise in the upholstery trade.

During my thirteen year tenure with South
Central College I had the opportunity to do a
six week internship with the Minnesota
History Center assisting with the furniture
conservation project for the historic,
Alexander Ramsey House in Saint Paul,
MN. This experience opened my eyes to new
challenges and the true beauty of preservation.
It was also the time in my life when I realized
that I wanted to return to my more creative
nature and resume my in-home upholstery
business. Both the instructional work in the
correctional facility and the internship proved
to be great experiences, but I knew that my
true calling was serving customers and owning
my own business.

In 2005, I opened Rose’s Upholstery out of my home in the rural Northfield area. I enjoy working with my hands and providing decorative choices for customers. There is no better feeling than seeing the customer’s surprise and delight with the final reupholstered piece of furniture. I believe in what I do, I enjoy what I do, and I want to prove it to you.

Thank you for taking the time to browse my website and to learn a little more about me and Rose’s Upholstery.
